Bernice Miedzinski  BA, FCSI (President) 

 

StarBridge is led by Bernice Miedzinski, who is a senior investment professional with over 30 years of capital markets’ experience across alternative asset classes, including hedge funds, private equity, distressed strategies, private debt, real estate, and natural resources.  Bernice’s experience includes 4 years in corporate treasury with a global mining company, and 7 years on a fixed income and currency trading floor, first at CIBC World Markets (Wood Gundy) and then at JP Morgan. Bernice then spent over 10 years as an independent investment consultant to Canadian financial institutions, pension funds and family offices, before spending 8 years as a Managing Director raising capital for global hedge funds, first at York Investment Strategies and then at Man Investments Canada.

 

Bernice founded StarBridge Capital as a boutique alternative assets fund placement and advisory firm in 2012. For the past 15+ years, Bernice has focused exclusively on the alternative asset universe, working with both global asset managers and Canadian institutional investors and family offices across a range of alternative asset strategies. Bernice initially studied in South Africa and holds a BA degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (“Wits”) and a post-graduate diploma from The Graduate School of Business Administration at Wits. She also holds a graduate qualification in Middle Eastern Studies from Tel Aviv University. Bernice is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (“FCSI”).
